Theater
Performance
"The man with the good heart and the gold pomegranate"
During a
pedagogical meeting with parents, it was suggested going to Athens to
attend a performance. They also had some specific ideas. We asked and
discussed with other colleagues who had already seen some performances
and finally we decided to go to the 'Theater under the Bridge' at the
P. Faliro station.
The children were excited because this performance had almost everything.
Seats on the first row! -thanks to my colleague Maria - beautiful well-made
costumes, many alternating settings, relaxing music, good and bad guys,
stupid kings, witches and witchcraft, charming actors and finally love
giving a way out to everybody...
And after the Theater? What?
Back home?
Of course not!
A sightseeing ride on a bus from Piraeus to Athens, just to breathe some
of the 'famous pollution' of Athens... This is our capital; we had to
do this!
So we arrived at the Zappio building for a short visit and at the playground
'Aigli' nearby...
We walked to the Syntagma Square to see our parliament and of course our
'Tsoliades'; we got the typical photo with them...
Then, downstairs to the Syntagma subway station.. Here the station is
quite new and impressive; you also get a special sense as you walk by
the Iridanos River bed and among all these special well- exposed archaeological
findings amidst an obvious cleanliness everywhere.
Here the
children got the chance to leave their mothers' hand and run...run...
Alone in the huge hall. And then close by a relaxing walk in the peaceful
National Garden...
...the peacock is always beautiful even behind iron bars.
