Two schools.. Two artists.. Gaudi and Fassianos.. What do we know about them? What should we like to look for them? To see , to touch , to create, to learn about them throught our partners view. The Spanish pupils shall meet this great architect, through visits to thematic parks and to some of his buildings in Barcelona. The Greek pupils using the internet basically they will know who is this painter.. They will find out many of his master pieces, they will visit virtual exhibitions and they will be familiar with some of his specific techniques. All the above activities and possible more they may come out from the pupils aiming pupils in both schools to learn and study these artists from each others’ point of view. How we worked.. During the first term we made and exchanged with our Spanish partners: a ppt with our school area and ourselves so that to now each other. Then we were looking on the Internet and we found many sites about Fassianos painter and made a data base.. we explored this base with the kids discovering what they liked more from Fassianos' pieces of Art as well some components for making a short biography. A short one because we aimed kids keep in mind 4-5 things important from Fassianos' life.. and to be familiar with one of his painting technique : people's profile.. They experimented on this technique individually on paper and on Paint .. We set up a short illustrated biography made by all the pupils.. and they narrated it. Pupils chose one favorite painting and they tried to make a copy of it using the painter's 3 favorite colors. We visited the metro station-Metaxourgeio- in Athens to see 2 big wall paintings of the artist.. we made a slideshow on the internet showing how pupils worked to make this and the team-work planned and made a presentation of their running project until now to the whole school... We made a painter’s corner in our library for all visitors.. Pupils made people on profile using plastic art and we started making an album. They presented all to the parents speaking to them about this project at a school meeting. We sent to the Spanish school digital drawings made by the pupils based on the painter via the Internet. Because pupils liked this more they experimented on Paint resizing their drawings, copying and pasting, and turning them opposite.. The Spanish pupils sent us another presentation about Gaudi.. We observed it carefully and the Greek pupils after they realized the architect’s style they made their own drawings - houses and sent them by the real post. They also noticed 2 common elements both artists have : Gaudi and Fassianos, like blue colour and curves! The project closes to its end with a happening for the pupils at the National Gallery in Athens: Red team: Find out how many paintings are in profile, Black team: how many are pieces of the painter, Bleu team: how many others remind you Gaudi's technique, a visit of Fassianos to our school (?) and an exhibition with all paintings pupils have made this year. As a follow up of this project we can say, the story … The curved-village ….we made in collaboration with the pupils of the first primary of our village.
